Rock Is Not Dead: Breakout Artist Alluri Unleashes New Era of Indian Rock with new EP ‘Andar Ka Janwar’

Having collaborated with global legends like Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) and Andy Burrows (Razorlight), the singer-composer presents a new record blending rock, Telugu and striking visuals

Alluri is revolutionising Indian rock by blending the power of rock and roll with Indian classical influences and his Telugu roots. The Hyderabad/London based artist has unveiled his groundbreaking record, Andar Ka Janwar.

The EP features tracks as daring as its name. The title Hindi song "Andar Ka Janwar" is a blistering anthem with a relatable, punchy chorus, capturing the messy beauty of inner chaos. The next Telugu track "Chastavu" is a darkly humorous take on modern existentialism, with its Welsh version recorded in Newport. The third track "Mr. Munchedo" is a Beatles-esque exploration of personal demons, brought to life with exceptional craftsmanship.

Recorded across England in immersive settings, including a studio used by legends like Tears for Fears, Andar Ka Janwar channels the unfiltered energy of its raw origins while showcasing Alluri’s evolution as a creator. It also redefines Indian rock on a global stage, with the creative touch of mentors like Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) and collaborators such as Andy Burrows (Razorlight).

About his new EP, ‘Andar Ka Janwar’, Alluri says, " ‘Andar Ka Janwar’ is pure, unapologetic rock—raw, multilingual, and loud. It’s a snapshot of my journey through languages, cities, and life’s chaos, shaped into music that grabs you and doesn’t let go. Collaborating with Andy Burrows pushed the EP into bold new territory, elevating every track to something fresh and exciting.”

Alluri’s music videos for the EP are equally captivating and cinematic. Crafted like short films, they stand out with striking visuals that elevate the songs’ themes. Even without sound, the videos tell a compelling story, pulling the viewer into their surreal and immersive worlds. The Chastavu video, praised for its inventive storytelling, takes a satirical dive into themes of consumption and excess. Meanwhile, the Andar Ka Janwar video sees friends gather in a living room where suddenly the atmosphere shifts, and something unexpected pops out.

Sonically and culturally, Andar Ka Janwar challenges conventions. Glen Matlock’s admiration of Alluri’s artistry has already been well-documented, but the contribution of Andy Burrows takes this EP to new heights. Burrows not only produced the title track but also infused the entire collection with inventive drumming and fresh textures.

Alluri shares a message for listeners,
“I hope these songs resonate with people in their own way, but also surprises you—maybe even shocks you a little. It’s honest music,
and I’m humbled to share it with listeners everywhere."

Since his debut in 2015 with Man of Truth, Alluri has carved a unique space for himself. His multilingual approach to songwriting—switching seamlessly between Telugu, Hindi, and English—sets him apart. From working with Grammy-winning producer Tommaso Colliva to collaborating with legends like Matlock and Burrows, his journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

Matlock has described Alluri as interesting and accomplished, and the music world agrees. As anticipation builds for his upcoming album, The Beautiful Indian aa Rock and Roll Explosion, Alluri is gearing up for live performances that promise to leave audiences spellbound.

Andar Ka Janwar isn’t just an EP; it’s a statement. For those ready to embrace the raw and the revolutionary, Alluri’s latest release is a must-listen. Stay tuned as he prepares to take this energy to stages worldwide in 2025.
