The event will feature eminent artists performing works from pre-independence and post-independence eras, showcasing the rich heritage of Indian music. 2nd August: Tata Theatre
Umakant Gundecha and Anant Gundecha- Dhrupad and Dhamar
Listen to the deep-rooted tradition of Dhrupad and Dhamar with the mesmerizing voices of Umakant Gundecha and Anant Gundecha. Trained by the legendary Dhrupad Maestros Zia Mohiuddin and Zia Fariduddin Dagar, Umakant Gundecha's illustrious career spans over four decades. Joined by his nephew and disciple, Anant Gundecha, they will perform compositions by iconic figures such as Tansen, Baiju, and their guru, Swami Haridas. This recital promises to be a journey into the depths of classical Indian music, revealing the intricate and meditative essence of dhrupad.
Sanjeev Abhyankar- Khayal, Haveli Sangeet, and Sanskrit Pad
Sanjeev Abhyankar, an acclaimed vocalist trained under the legendary Jasraj of the Mewati gharana, will present an evening of Khayal, haveli sangeet, and Sanskrit pad. Known for his soulful renditions and adherence to his mentor's style, Abhyankar will perform compositions created by Jasraj. His repertoire includes classical and devotional music that highlights the spiritual and expressive nuances of Indian classical music.
3rd August: Tata Theatre
Malini Awasthi- Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Chaiti, Sawan, and Jhoola
Be a part of the semi-classical and folk music traditions with Malini Awasthi, a celebrated artiste of the Banaras gharana. Trained under the illustrious Girija Devi, Malini Awasthi is known for her contributions to genres like Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Chaiti, Sawan, and Jhoola. With a career that spans singing for films and live performances, she brings a rich range from regions like Banaras and Awadh. Her performance will include compositions by poets such as Bharatendu, Ramprasad Mishra (Ramuji), Sajile, and Chhabile, sung in the Kashika dialect, providing a vibrant and authentic experience of regional Indian music.

Five talented singers—Vibhavari Apte Joshi, Anwesshaa, Smita Adhikary, Hrishikesh Ranade, and Rajesh Panwar—will bring these compositions to life, accompanied by an orchestra of over 40 musicians. Hosted by Yunus Khan, this evening promises to be a nostalgic journey through the golden era of Bollywood music.
