Exclusive: Mahesh-Rajamouli film based on Kanchi story idea?
If reliable sources are to be believed, actor-screenwriter S S Kanchi who penned the story for blockbuster ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and also worked in other scripts of ace director Rajamouli blockbusters from ‘Eega’ to ‘RRR’, has reportedly bounced a story idea and it impressed ‘Baahubali’ director. “Kanchi who is also the cousin brother of Rajamouli, suggested a plot to the director which is typical forest adventure and globe-trotting hero-driven saga. The director liked it very much and also came up with loads of ideas and suggestions and it has shaped up to be a big winner,” says a source.
Usually, legendary writer Vijayayendra Prasad provides stories for his kin Rajamouli and their heady combination had worldwide blockbusters like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’. “They also delivered numerous hits like ‘Vikramarkudu’, ‘Simhadri’ and ‘Chatrapathi’ in the past. The heady combination of Vijayendra Prasad and Rajamouli has remained unbeatable and have turned out to be best storytellers in Indian cinema and truly ruling the roost,” he points out.
No doubt, Vijayendra Prasad and the team have also fine-tuned the plot of Kanchi and it is going to be another worldwide blockbuster as the script suits the larger-than-life image of superstar Mahesh Babu. “After working with reigning stars Prabhas, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan, Rajamouli is working with Mahesh Babu for the first time. The combination has triggered a lot of hype and hoopla around the magnum opus and it is turning out to be one the much-awaited movies in 2025,” he concludes.
