Exclusive: Prabhas Takes on a Multi-Layered Role in Fauji

After a brief break to recover from an ankle injury, superstar Prabhas is back in action, resuming work on his highly anticipated film Fauji. "He started shooting four days ago and is doing a fantastic job," reveals a source.
Teaming up with acclaimed director Hanu Raghavapudi, Prabhas is set to star in an action-packed period drama that spans the British era. "His role in Fauji is deeply challenging and multi-dimensional, allowing him to showcase both his fiery intensity and softer side. This could be his most powerful performance since Baahubali, which solidified his larger-than-life image," the source adds.
This film marks a shift from Prabhas’s recent action-heavy roles in Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD, which lacked his romantic side. However, Fauji will change that, as he is paired with fresh face Imanvi—a dancer and social media influencer. “There’s a beautiful and emotional love story in the film, and with Hanu Raghavapudi’s expertise in crafting heartfelt romances like Sita Ramam, audiences can expect a perfect blend of action and romance,” the insider notes.
Set in 1945, Fauji follows Prabhas as a soldier in the British Army. The film also features veteran stars Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada in pivotal roles. As a pan-India project, Fauji aims to expand its appeal with grand action sequences designed to elevate Prabhas’s larger-than-life persona. Filming is currently underway at Ramoji Film City and other picturesque locations.
