Fans Celebrate Actor Vijay’s Birthday, Leaders Send Wishes

Chennai: Political leaders cutting across party lines greeted actor Vijay, who recently launched his political party, the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhaga, with the aim of contesting the Assembly elections in 2026, on his turning 50 on Saturday.

The film fans of Vijay, who has elaborate plans to make the 50th birthday a grand affair, had to tone down the celebrations as Vijay had urged them not to celebrate the event in view of the hooch tragedy in Kallakurichi that had taken a heavy toll of 55 persons.

However, the fans organized events to extend assistance to needy people and also erected flex boards greeting the actor for a long life.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Edappadi K Palaniswami extended his greetings to Vijay and wished him many more years of successful service to people now that he had entered public life.

TNCC president K Selvaperunthogai wished the ‘Ilaya Thalapathy,’ who enjoyed the support and adoration of youth as a film artist and is also the president of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, many more successes on his 50th birthday.

BJP State President K Annamalai prayed to God Almighty that the artistic and political work of Vijay continued even as he greeted the leading actor and president of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam a happy birthday.

In his message on X, Annamalai said that Vijay had undertaken a journey to usher in an alternative politics in the State with social responsibility and wished him success.

Former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was also among the others who greeted Vijay on his birthday .
