8 Mile director no more
The director won an Oscar for his movie L.A. Confidential.
On Tuesday, Oscar-winning director and writer Curtis Hanson died at the age of 71 at a home in Hollywood Hills.
According to TMZ.com, Hanson was pronounced dead at the spot. Hanson appears to have died of a heart attack.
The director won an Oscar for his movie L.A. Confidential. He also directed Eminem’s Hollywood debut 8 Mile. Eminem released a statement to remember his friend.
“Curtis Hanson believed in me and our crazy idea to make a rap battle movie set in Detroit. He basically made me into an actor for 8 Mile. I’m lucky I got to know him,” the rapper said, according to HollywoodReporter.com.
