The cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., including Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet, Ming-Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Iain De Caestecker and Jed Whedon, took part in a panel discussion during the 2016 Comic-Con in San Diego.
Although the cast didn’t have any fourth season footage to share, they did make one major announcement. A teaser revealed that Ghost Rider would be joining the cast, played by Robbie Reyes.
“Season four will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider. When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything,” executive producer Jeph Loeb said, it was reported on JustJared.com.
Nicolas Cage played Ghost Rider in the 2007 movie Ghost Rider, as well as in the 2012 sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
