Breach of Privacy: Scarlett johansson on Chat GPT using her voice
ChatGPT has a new version now with all the possible developments regarding AI. Elon Musk, a long time back, said that AI is surely going to be dangerous to mankind, putting us all in danger. While deep fake videos have already been putting many public figures in trouble, here comes another issue that has made headlines across the country for a new reason.
Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson took to her social media yesterday to share that without her permission, the voice of ChatGPT is hers and that this is shocking to her.
“Last September, I received an offer from Sam Altman, who wanted to hire me to voice the current ChatGPT 4.0 system,” Johansson wrote on her social media. "Nine months later, my friends, family and the general public all noted how much the newest system named 'Sky' sounded like me," she added.
“The voice of Sky is not Scarlett Johansson’s, and it was never intended to resemble hers. We cast the voice actor behind Sky’s voice before any outreach to Ms Johansson,” OpenAI's CEO Sam said to the Verge in a statement.
This went too far than expected and in return, Scarlette took legal action against this breach of privacy. “As a result of their actions, I was forced to hire legal counsel, who wrote two letters to Mr Altman and OpenAI, setting out what they had done and asking them to detail the exact process by which they created the ‘Sky’ voice. Consequently, OpenAl reluctantly agreed to take down the 'Sky voice,” Scarlett Johansson said in a statement. Sky has now been replaced with another voice called Juniper.
