Mufasa: The Lion King emerges as the frontrunner this Christmas, leading advance ticket sales across national cinemas!
With Christmas set to bask in, audiences are spoiled for choice with numerous theatrical releases. From Varun Dhawan’s Baby John to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 and Walt Disney Picture’s Mufasa: The Lion King, the stakes are high to emerge as the audience’s favourite choice, this Christmas. In early trends, Mufasa: The Lion King is leading as the frontrunner, leading advanced sales across national cinema outlets PVR INOX and Cinepolis.
As of 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 24, Mufasa: The Lion King has sold a total of 44,000 tickets in the national chains – 37,000 tickets in PVR INOX and 7,000 in Cinepolis. The film has a strong lead over Pushpa 2 which has sold 27,000 tickets – 21,000 in PVR INOX and the balance of 6,000 tickets in Cinepolis and Baby John which releases tomorrow that has sold 30,000 tickets - 25,000 in PVR INOX and 5,000 in Cinepolis. Compelling voiceovers by popular Indian actors like Shah Rukh Khan in Hindi, Mahesh Babu in Telugu and Arjun Das in Tamil have significantly boosted Mufasa: The Lion King’s appeal across India.
With the final trends all set to bask in by this evening, it will be exciting to see which film emerges on top. Currently, Christmas belongs to Mufasa: The Lion King which is playing in cinemas in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
