I don’t like to promote my Gym or Airport Look: Avantika Dassani

In a brief chit chat she shares her experience working for, "Mithiya-The Darker Chapter", her future films and on differences she finds working for theatrical films as well shows on the OTT and also about her fitness mantra. Her debut Telugu film “Nenu Student Sir" may have not received critical appreciation nor B.O. success but she has a few south and Hindi films.

Before sitting down for a chit-chat we quizzed Avantika on her Telugu debut film “Nenu Student Sir", an action thriller film directed by Rakhi Uppalapati, with Bellamkonda Ganesh [male lead]. On being asked about why her Telugu debut film didn't do well at the B.O, she replies,"I remember,the film got promoted down South. I was busy shooting for a Hindi film during its promotions. Nenu Student sir, had received critical appreciation. It was a small budget film. I think it did well down South as it was promoted over there. I have a few films down south and here. Hoping for a positive result."

What all did you have to adapt while being in the jail in the first season?

Well as you must have seen Rhea is being released from jail in season 2, "Mithiya The Darker Chapter" which picked up 6 months after she is released from jail and going to her time in jail is an experience and it makes people harder from inside and outside as well. She is a young brat that had gone inside; however, she comes out as the head honcho of this Rajguru state with a strong internal and external power.

What difference do you find doing theatrical films and OTT shows?

OTT releases and bada parda releases - I don’t think there are any differences. My films were in restrained run time and also not with a huge budget. The show is longer on OTT. As an actor you approach with the same collaborative manner with the team. It's an exciting and great experience working on both mediums.

What are your future projects?

I have, "U Shape Ki Gully” and I cannot talk much about it. However, the film’s backdrop is Lucknow, so you will find it in a totally different avatar. This role is very different in comparison to Rhea in, "Mithiya-The Darker Chapter", where my role Rhea was vindictive, revengeful and a crazy character but I thoroughly enjoyed it. You will soon see me in films down South and in shows here.

Does Avantika believe in the fitness mantra just like her mom- Bhagyashree, who looks fit?

My mom [ Bhagyashree] is a fitness freak. When we were young, I mean when I was in school, I played sports and it's been part of me during my early age. Yes, during your middle age you don’t give so much importance to fitness as you are busy with your friends and partying with your college friend. I realized now it’s good to be fit as a fiddle for health and as well as long life.

So, does Avantika love to promote her gym look and airport look?

I am a little active on social media but I don’t like to be clicked while going to the gym [look], you will find me in ragged old clothes and I am sweating terribly in those clothes. I also don’t find it essential to promote the airport look. It depends on an individual, who believes what is important to them personally. It’s more about what is right for your own brand and what you are trying to do. At this point, since my show has just been released, so before the release and after, we want the audiences to know, thus, we are going all over the places promoting Mithya. That's our obvious choice at this point of time and there is nothing wrong in doing so. People have to achieve different goals and that’s their personal choice.
