Pawan Kalyan set for A new challenge
Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan is going to reach out to Hindi film viewers with his upcoming film ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ and it is going to be a new challenge for the actor-turned-politician. “Pawan Kalyan is game for a challenge and has many firsts to his credit in his illustrious career and he is game for another challenge,” says producer M S Raju, who adds “For many years, Hindi audiences loved watching Telugu stars in dubbed movies. So, Allu Arjun became popular among Hindi-speaking audiences after ‘Pushpa The Rise’ and Nikhil Siddhartha was unknown before ‘Karthikeya’ 2’,” he adds.
Pawan Kalyan who conquered Tollywood with numerous blockbusters from ‘Kushi’, “Jalsa’ and ‘Atharintiki Daredi' garnered Rs 80 to 90 crore collections in Telugu states, US and southern states. “Pawan Kalyan as Deputy Chief Minister had become more popular across-India with his fiery and vibrant speeches. He is going to draw better openings for ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ in North India since his popularity as an actor and politician gained him the image of a fearless man. His onscreen and off-screen image has almost blurred and he is going to breach regional and language barriers,” points out Raju. With ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ looking to be a story of valour and courage, it will find better connection with non-Telugu viewers as well. “My friend A M Rathnam is producing this film in multiple languages and I wish him good luck too since he is known for bankrolling blockbusters in the past,” he added.
In fact, Pawan Kalyan’s next film ‘OG’ being directed by Sujith also has pan-India appeal since it is revolves around a gangsters in Mumbai in 1980’s and it would be released all over India because it is being produced by Dannayya who made ‘RRR’. “Both Hari Hara Veera Mallu and OG have enough potential but finally the content and novelty in treatment would be judged by the audience across India. Of course, superstars bring in an initial audience and then an interesting story and screenplay would sustain them in theaters. Definitely, Pawan Kalyan has an unfinished task of wooing Hindi viewers in big numbers in theatres and that could happen in 2025,” he concludes.
