Director Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi adventure ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ rocked the box office worldwide and had great performances from Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, and Prabhas. Eventually, the excitement about the sequel has been soaring, and few speculations too. However, after the screening of 'Kalki 2898 AD' at the International Film Festival in Goa, producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt disclosed that the ‘work for Kalki 2’ is underway’.
“Pre-production is happening and we’ve already shot 30-35 percent alongside the first," said Swapna Dutt while speaking to the media on the red carpet. On shooting for Kalki 2 to begin in February, she added, ‘We have not finalized the dates yet but we will surely announce once things fall in place,”
The ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ revolved around a pregnant woman, Deepika Padukone, who escapes from the complex of Supreme Yashkin and is later protected by Aswadhama(Amitabh Bachchan) who is on a mission. “Deepika will continue to play the mother in some parts of the sequel,” informs Swapna.
Earlier at an event, Nag Ashwin had claimed that he would be focusing on Kalki 2 and would not be making any other film in between. “Kalki 2 is equal to making 2 or 3 films so I would only focus on it,” he had said.
The film is expected to begin in March next year since the dates of Kamala Hassan, Prabhas, and Deepika have been coordinated for shooting to commence
