Former DGP Walter Devaram was all praise for Sibiraj after watching the sneak peek of the latter’s cop film Walter.
Speaking at the audio launch, Sibi said, “In using the title ‘Walter’, I faced a lot of challenges as I knew there would be comparisons with my dad Sathyaraj’s blockbuster Walter Vetrivel. However, I was confident that the content would speak for itself.”
Speaking about the two films, he said “one of the elements that contributed towards the success of my father’s WV was the sentiments of the child. I can assure that in this film too, such sentiments play a big part.”
According to Sibi, he had always been under the impression that Walter Devaram had attended the launch of Walter Vetrivel, but P Vasu had clarified that the erstwhile top cop hadn’t been able to make it for the occasion. “I am so happy that he is here for this audio launch”, said Sibi.
Speaking on the occasion, Walter Devaram said “I am somewhat far from the film industry, but in some way had got the opportunity to be around great personalities like MGR, Jayalalithaa and a few others. When P Vasu made a film titled Walter Vetrivel, he approached me seeking permission to use my name in the title. However, there wasn’t any need for such permission, as they didn’t use my full name. I am really happy about the way the trailer and audio of Walter have come out.”
While Shirin Kanchwala is the leading lady, the film is directed by Anbu and bank rolled by Prabhu Thilak.
