96 to go on floors soon
Vijay Sethupathi- Trisha starrer 96 will go on floors soon in Kumbakonam. Sources close to the film tell that currently, the casting process is on and the crew is looking for actors suitable to play the younger version of both Sethupathi and Trisha. The first look of the film was released on Valentines Day and the poster design contained images of many elements that remind us of the 90s — Walkmans, Michael Jackson, panneer soda and much more, indicating that the film is set in the year 1996.
Director Prem Kumar has previously worked as cinematographer in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and the yet-to-release Oru Pakka Kadhai. Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi’s role in NKPK was inspired from an incident in Prem Kumar’s real life. Produced by Madras Enterprises, 96’s crew includes cinematographer by N. Shanmuga Sundaram, music by Govind Menon and editing by R. Govindaraj.
