A while back we had reported that Kamal Haasan was planning to make a movie with Vikram playing the lead role. Now, it’s official! On Thursday, the Ulaganayagan announced that his next production venture would feature Chiyaan Vikram as the protagonist and it would be directed by Rajesh M Selva of Thoongavanam fame. Rajesh has been Kamal’s associate for a long time now, and he was also a part of Vishwaroopam 2. The upcoming film will also feature Akshara Haasan and Abi Hassan, but it’s unclear if Akshara will be paired with Chiyaan.
The yet to be titled movie, which will be co-produced by Trident Arts, will be the 45th film made under the Raaj Kamal Films banner. The actor-turned-politician’s regular composer Ghibran has been roped in once again to compose the music, and Srinivas Reddy will be behind the camera.
Though shooting for the film began on the day of the announcement, it is learnt that Vikram will join the team at a later date, after completing his work on Dhuruva Natchathiram.
