Poonam Bajwa roped in for Kuppathu Raja
Actress Poonam Bajwa, who was last seen in Sundar C’s Muthina Kathirikkai, has been roped in to play the female lead in GV Prakash’s next film, Kuppathu Raja. The film, directed by chroeographer Baba Bhaskar also has Parthiban playing a pivotal role.
Talking to DC, Poonam says, “I have been waiting for good projects to come my way for sometime now. When I heard the narration a few months ago, I really liked the story and my role too. Although I hadn’t met the director prior to the film, I liked the way he narrated the script, and I went with my gut feeling.”
Poonam plays the role of an Anglo-Indian girl in this film which is based in a slum, as the title suggests. “Although I cannot reveal much about the role, I can say it’s a sweet, subtle character.” Commenting on
GV Prakash, her co star, Poonam says, “Although it has been only a couple of days since I started working with him, I feel he is very grounded and unassuming. We have many combination scenes in the film, and I am looking forward to the rest of the shoot!”
With cinematographer Velraj, editor Praveen KL and art director Kiran as part of the technical crew, GV Prakash will also compose the tunes for this film.
