Disha Pandey, who was last seen in a blink-and-you-miss-it role in Tamizh Padam 2, is back as the heroine of a horror-comedy film called Kombu. Television anchor turned actor Jeeva of Lollu Sabha fame plays the film’s male lead.
Director Ibrahim says that Kombu is a hard core spine-chilling horror story narrated in a new format. “It is about two girls who die under mysterious circumstances. The hero and four others come to the site of their deaths to investigate the case, and they have some supernatural experiences there. Besides being a horror movie, the film conveys a message about women’s safety,” he says.
Until now, Jeeva has largely been seen doing comic roles. In Kombu, he gets to explore action, comedy, as well as emotional drama. Disha too has a wide scope to perform, Ibrahim says.
