While every other Kollywood film is dragged into a controversy of story theft, here is Prabhuraja, a former assistant to director Tarun Gopi, turning independent now, is making the film Padaipaalan (Creator) which is set against a backdrop of story theft and how corporates cheat aspiring filmmakers who narrate their scripts to them.
Talking about the movie, Prabhu says, “I wrote the script taking inspiration from my real life experiences. I have been in the industry for long and I have seen several of my friends still struggling to get a break. They would tirelessly narrate the stories moving from one producer to other, hoping one day they would get a break. And now, with the advent of companies in film production, some of them even part with their bound script, besides narrating the story. And this is one of the reasons for their stories being lifted. My main aim is to expose these corporate companies and bring out the pain the assistant directors undergo in Tamil film industry, he says.
Manobala, Tarun Gopi, Jaguar Thangam, Ashmitha are part of the cast.
