Sad to see Pattukottai in such a state now: Santhosh Thyagarajan
Team Seemathurai shot for 45 days at places surrounding Pattukottai just two months ago and they are very upset about the area being totally devastated by Cyclone Gaja.
Talking about the film they shot there, director Santhosh Thyagarajan says, “Seemathurai denotes innocent jobless youths from villages who roam around with his friends. The story of my film is based on real life incidents that took place in Pattukottai in Thanjavur district. So, we needed to shoot in the same beautiful locales where the story is set. The villagers treated us so affectionately during our stay (for 45 days) there and now to see them without their houses and farms, we feel sad. Hope normalcy will restore soon. We are pitching in our bit to help the Gaja victims.”
Geethan essays the male lead and Varsha Bollamma who we saw recently in 96, is the lead heroine. Viji Chandrashekar plays Geethan’s mother in a challenging role.
