Kannan's Boomerang addresses farmers' issues
After Karthi's Kadaikutty Singam, a film about farmers' pride, yet another filmmaker is set to address the issues faced by the farming community.
Talking about his second production, Boomerang, Kannan says, “Though the film has a commercial theme, it deals with farmers' issues in the backdrop. Why are farmers suffering losses despite there being 132 crore rice consumers in our country? My film suggests a solution to this problem without being judgemental.”
Boomerang features Atharvaa Murali and Megha Akash in the lead roles, with Induja and Upen Patel playing strong supporting characters. The producer reveals, “Atharvaa plays an IT professional who's passionate about football and hails from Vadugapatti, a rural area. It is a multi-dimensional character, and Atharvaa had to spend hours in the makeup chair getting prosthetics attached for his look.”
Kannan also heaps praise on Induja, saying, “She is a spontaneous, powerhouse performer. Her role takes the story forward at a crucial stage.”
Music for the film is being composed by Radhan of Arjun Reddy fame, while Prasanna S. Kumar has been brought on board for the cinematography.
