Vikram launches his son Dhruv
As we reported earlier that Chiyaan Vikram’s son Dhruv would don the greasepaint soon, the national award-winning actor has confirmed the same through an official announcement. The Anniyan star is launching his son in the Tamil remake of Tollywood blockbuster Arjun Reddy. The movie, which catapulted its lead pair Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey to fame, gained cult status for its raw and arresting storytelling. Vikram also posted a small video clip of Dhruv on his Instagram and titled it, ‘Ready to make the leap’.
Dhruv will reprise Vijay Devarakonda’s role in the remake, which will be produced by E4 Entertainment. “We are extremely happy to share that Dhruv Vikram will be essaying the lead in the Tamil version of Arjun Reddy. We are honoured by the opportunity and confidence shown in us by Vikram, and we will work towards making it a memorable launch,” (sic) producer Mukesh Mehta wrote on his social media handle.
One may recall that Dhruv Vikram made his directorial debut with an English short film, Goodnight Charlie that dealt with the delicate subject of child abuse. Reportedly, the film was shot as a project for his six-month filmmaking course at the Met Film School, London. Dhruv was also said to have given inputs to Vikram, while the latter was developing mannerisms for his much-talked about character ‘Love’ in Iru Mugan.
