PV 999 has larger message
Rajkamal, last seen in the film Melnaattu Marumagan, has opted for a role with grey shades in his upcoming flick titled Pen Vilai Verum Roobai 999 (price of a pen is only Rs 999), in short PV 999. Directed by Varadharajan the film talks about the sexual amusement and harassment women face and the menace of advent of technology. A production source inform us that the film initially had the title Penn Vilai Verum Roobai 999 (price of a girl is only '999) to which the Tamil Film Producers Council as well as the Producers Guild objected when the makers approached them for registering the title, which is mandatory. Hence the change!
Kannada actress Sweta Pandit makes her foray in the female lead. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, an activist who raises her voice for women empowerment, launched the first look motion poster of the movie.
“The movie has a big message. Women, who are no less than men in any field, are viewed as an object of desire. This attitude should change and treat them with dignity is what the film projects,” claims the director.
