Adhiti signs Ameer's Sandhanadevan
Adhiti, who made her debut with the recently released AR Sankarpandi’s Pattadhari, has been roped in as one of the leads in Ameer’s tentatively titled Sandhanadevan, featuring Arya as the hero. She says that she always aspired to become a popular actress in Kollywood and considers this movie as the first step in achieving her dream.
Speaking to DC, she says, “After seeing Pattadhari posters, one of Ameer’s associates called me for an audition. Since Ameer sir has the knack of portraying women in a strong light, I was sure that I had to sign this film even if I have limited screen presence. He offered me an important role, but I don’t know whether I am paired opposite Arya or the second hero.” Adhiti believes that her characterisation in the movie will bring her laurels. — “The script was so intriguing and I am sure that people will recognise my talent with this film. I have been asked to maintain a certain look till the shooting is wrapped up. Ameer insisted that I dub for myself, so I am taking references from Bharathiraja sir’s movies to get the dialect right,” she claims.
Sandhanadevan, a period drama, is slated to go on floors sometime in December. The film will be shot across Madurai, Theni and other villages nearby.
The actress is upbeat about the reception she is getting for her performance in Pattadhari. “We have been getting good reviews from Bengaluru. Owing to positive reviews, the film will also release in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh (dubbed version) on December 9,” she rues. While she is in talks for several films in Tamil and Malayalam, she is keen on completing Sandhanadevan.
