Even as her first film Para in intense filmmaker Keera’s direction is to hit the marquee, actress Sawanthika, who was noticed for her performance has been roped in for an romantic horror thriller.
Titled Piya, the movie is directed by Raj Gokul Das, who has assisted many filmmakers. He also doubles up as the lead hero. Popular classical dancer Janak Raj has been brought on board as the second hero.
Says Raj Gokul, “The movie is set in Tamil Nadu–Kerala border. With romance at the backdrop, I have laced the film with action, horror and thrill elements. We shot extensively in the dense woods of Kerala and places like Moonar, Vagamon, Alapuzha, Kumuli, Kambam for 40 days. There were also rains in between and there were leeches all over. It was a scary sight. Still, everyone cooperated without any fuss and we completed the shoot in time.”
Well-known villain Rajan P Dev’s son Jubil Rajan Dev debuts as the baddie in Piya.
