Actor Udhaya, who was last seen in the mystery thriller, Aavi Kumar, is back with the film Utharavu Maharaja. This time he has bankrolled the project too. Udhaya claims that this film is the most significant one in his career in terms of budget and the character. The makers have now released a new poster of the film in which Udhaya is all worn out and grubby.
“I have four different looks in the film, but they are not four different persons. The first poster is the look of a character called Ravi. The name of the character in the recent poster is Mark Antony. You would know the reason behind the looks once you watch the film,” Udhaya says.
He turned producer for the film when he found the script narrated by debutant director Asif Kuraishi, compelling. “He has worked in many AD films and Bollywood projects. I liked the script and it sounded very unique. So, I decided to fund the project myself.”
When asked about actor Prabhu’s role, he says, “He comes as a doctor as well as a king! His real character is the suspense that I wouldn’t want to reveal. The mystery about the film is the period it is set in.”
There are three heroines — Priyanka, Shera, and Nisha — in the film, but there is not even a duet song, Udhaya boasts. The film also has many commendable actors like Nasser, Kovai Sarala and Sriman as part of its cast. Kutty Padmini is making a comeback with the film after a long hiatus.
“Four different makeovers and shuttling back and forth between many locations are the reasons why the film has taken so much time. We hope to bring it out in August,” Udhaya says.
