Arundhathi Nair picks village-based scripts
Actress Arundhathi Nair has hit the right note with her debut film Saithaan starring Vijay Antony. Her characters Jayalakshmi and Aishwarya were pivotal to the story and the movie went on to become yet-another successful venture for Vijay Antony. Now, the talented actress is busy with a slew of projects in Tamil and Malayalam at different stages of production.
Currently, she is working on three Tamil films and one in Malayalam. Apart from this, she has also signed Shirish Saravanan’s Pistha. Speaking to DC, Arundhathi says, “I’m excited to see how my career is shaping up and I have a long way to go. I have signed a film titled Aayiram Porkasugal which has Vidharth as the lead. Directed by R Ravi Murugaiyya, this film is a rural-entertainer and I will be seen as a village belle.”
The actress who is shooting for Ajmal Ameer’s July 16 is also looking forward to Pistha, which is again a village-based comedy entertainer. “Helmed by director Ramesh Bharathi, this film has music composed by Dharan. Even though the film has another heroine Mrudula Murali, I would say we have equal importance in the story.” Shooting is underway in areas around Kumbakonam and Karaikudi.
