Hari Utthara’s film Paditthavudan Kizhitthu Vidavum is a horror-thriller set against the backdrop of insurance fraud. In the past, the director has made a film called Theru Naaigal, which deals with the ill-effects of methane on agricultural lands.
Talking about his upcoming release, whose title is based on a famous punch line used by Comedy King Vadivelu, Hari says, “The movie is partially based on real-life incidents of fraudulent claims made in the insurance sector. I have added bits of fiction, horror and suspense to it. It’s about a politician who makes crores of money from insurance companies in deceitful ways. He is haunted by the sprits of the people cheated by him. The story is narrated as a mix of horror and humour.”
Paditthavudan Kizhitthu Vidavum features Cool Suresh, Pradhik, Sreethar, and Cheeni playing the lead roles, and Paan Parag Ravi, Nellai Siva, Jennifer, Suma, Anitha and master Dhanush in supporting roles.
