Kaumudi Nemani plays the role of a young widow, who’s twice her real-life age in Sarileru Neekevvaru, starring Mahesh Babu. In the film, she plays actress Vijayashanti’s daughter-in-law.
Then, revealing that she was initially apprehensive to take up the role, Kaumudi says, “Given the bubbly roles I did earlier, I was unsure about playing a widow. But it’s a very strong and substantiate role, so I took it up. But it was a last-minute decision for me, especially when I was told that actress Vijayashanti and director Anil Ravipudi also rooted for me to play the part. They believed that I will perfectly fit the bill.”
Describing the shooting experience as a great one, Kaumudi, a trained Carnatic singer states, “Through this role, I’ve learnt how to be stronger in life. I was also able to strike a personal and emotional rapport with actress Vijayashanti garu.”
But more than anything else, it seems Kaumudi was floored with not only Mahesh Babu’s humility but also his great sense of humour. “I couldn’t stop laughing at it,” she recounts.
