Paisa is based on clean India mission
Sree Raam who won a National Award for Pandiraj’s Pasanga, turns an independent hero with Paisa directed by Majith. The young actor says that he plays a rag picker in the film, which will highlight Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat initiative aka ‘Clean India Mission’.
He tells DC, “Majith sir chose me because he felt that I would be apt for the role in terms of looks as well as my earlier performances. This film has a relevant social message for the audience, which will make them aware of their duties and responsibilities as citizens. In fact, only after working in this film, I realised that I need to empty junk into dustbins, and not throw it outside when I travel in a car.”
Newbie Aara debuts as the heroine. The 20-year-old says that his dad Sivaramakrishnan, who has earlier assisted filmmakers like IV Sasi, Pratap Pothen, and directed many ad films, is his role model.
“People ask me how would I handle my films flopping. Simple! I know success or failure is part of the profession. If I do my work correctly, it would fetch me the desired results one day,” he says and adds, “I shared screen space with one of the world’s finest actors, Kamal sir in Papanasam. On the first day of shoot, I was scared to go near him. But he patted me on my shoulder, saying, ‘Treat every film as your first’. Yes, those words really mean a lot for me in my career.”
Currently, Sree Raam’s hands are full with films like Saha, Café and Tharai Ticket .
