Ramya to let her art do the talking
Versatile actress and singer Ramya Nambeesan is all set to take the avatar of a YouTube host. She is launching her YouTube channel called 'Ramya Nambeesan Encore'
"It is not the run-of-the-mill kind channels you come across. Being an artiste, I want to explore a plethora of content through the art forms I am familiar with - like music, dance and drama," is how she begins her conversation with DC.
Speaking about how the idea originated, she says, "Recently, I was going through Wayanad and saw a few kids singing the folklore Kampala Paatu. I was totally floored. Since I am basically a singer, I thought why not I recreate the song into a video and let the whole world know about the rich cultural heritage. I felt starting my own digital space will only help me to reach my goal. And 'Ramya Nambeesan Encore' was born."
The first song video Ku Hu Ku in Malayalam will be a tribute to the people of Wayanad, she adds. Actress Bhavana launched the channel on December 4. "My next will be in Tamil and I may pick up a different topic. I want to utilise this private space to raise a voice for socially relevant issues - and again not with high decibel debates, but only through my art forms, maybe a drama, dance-drama. There are enough people in online media who express their anguish through hot discussions. But, my channel will not have any such conversations," the Pizza actress signs off with a smile.
On the career front, Ramya is busy with half a dozen films in her kitty including Tamilarasan with Vijay Antony and Ranger with Prithiviraj.
