Tamil is my favourite industry: Aishwarya Dutta
Kolkata-based Aishwarya Dutta, who made her debut with Nakul in Tamizhuku En Ondrai Azhuthavum, is quite happy with the shape of her career graph.
“Currently, I am shooting for an untitled flick directed by SR Prabhakaran alongside Vikram Prabhu, which also has Manjima Mohan as one of the female leads. We completed the first schedule in Tiruchy and will resume the second schedule after the elections. That’s all I am supposed to reveal, but I signed this because I have an interesting role to play. In fact, I am undergoing a makeover,” she says.
Aishwarya is simultaneously shooting for Marainthirunthu Paarkum Marmam Enna opposite Dhruva of Thilagar fame. The actress adds she wants to do more meaningful films.
“I believe that an actor should chase good scripts rather than money to improve his or her credibility. Money comes after script for me. More than the character, the story should attract me. There should be some uniqueness in it. I would like to play a reporter someday,” she smiles, and adds that before coming to Chennai, she was doing a couple of dance reality shows in Mumbai.
“I must thank Ramprakash Rayappa for having given me a break in Tamil cinema. The Tamil industry is my favourite and I feel most comfortable here. Scripts being offered to me in Tamil are solid, and my confidence levels have also increased considerably. Ever since I debuted here, I have been getting many offers, but I want to take it slow,” she says.
Before she concludes, she laughs, “I have been getting so much feedback about my work. So many people have come to me and said that they love the way I perform. If given a choice, I would like to work with all the Tamil actors, but I have been a huge fan of Ajith sir and Prabhas.”
