Even as Dhanush’s Pongal offering Pattas is eagerly awaited, the national award-winning actor commenced the shoot of his next film Karnan, which is the evergreen title of thespian Sivaji Ganesan’s epic film. Maari Selvaraj of Pariyerum Perumal fame directs the movie. The film shoot started at Tirunelveli at specially erected sets. M’town actress Rajisha Vijayan will romance Dhanush, who is said to sport a new look for the movie.
The film also boasts of actors like Yogi Babu, Malayalam actor Lal and Natraj Subramanian and is bankrolled by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. “Not just Love, Compassion and Mercy #Karnan also gives you Victory! Full fledged shoot in progress,” tweeted the producer.
Santhosh Narayanan, whose music was one of the mainstays in Pariyerum…..collaborates with Maari again.
Meanwhile, K. Chandrasekaran, president of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Samooga Nala Peravai, in a statement, raised concern about the use of the title Karnan. He requested Thanu to add a prefix or suffix to the present title.
