Bollywood director, and an icon of the independent cinema movement, Anurag Kashyap will release the online link of Karma produced by Creative Criminal and directed by R. Arvind, on on September 16th. With this, Karma becomes the first Tamil movie to be released worldwide through various online platforms.
Karma is a murder-mystery; an experimental feature film that is receiving rave reviews for its innovative screenplay.
The critically-acclaimed film was recently nominated at the Madrid International Film Festival for Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film. It was also officially selected for the Hollywood Sky Film Festival.
Says Arvind, “It is a great honour to have Anurag Kashyap release our movie. We believe this will pave a new way in the Tamil film industry, and motivate many young filmmakers. We are overwhelmed by the support shown by industry veterans to our initiative to release the movie online. It is truly a new beginning for the future of Tamil cinema.”
It is learnt that along with Kashyap, several Tamil film celebrities will also tweet the film’s online launch.
The film’s crew consists of renowned lyricist Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu, music director L.V Ganesan, cinematographer V.B Sivanandam, and editor Vinoth Balan.
The filmmakers say that the movie can be streamed or downloaded anywhere, anytime, in full HD quality, and can be downloaded to a laptop, PC, or streamed to a smart TV.
