It looks like Prabhudheva is on a film signing spree. A couple of days back, we had reported that he had started shooting for director Vijay’s upcoming film. Now, the actor has been signed on to play the lead role in director Sakthi Chidambaram’s forthcoming film, which will be a sequel to the comedy drama titled Charlie Chaplin.
A source close to the team reveals, “The team has been dabbling with the idea of sequel for sometime now and has started the pre-production work for the same. Tanya Ravichandran of Brindavanam fame and Nikki Galrani have been roped in to play the female leads alongside Prabhudheva, who was also part of Charlie Chaplin.”
Tentatively titled Charlie Chaplin 2, this movie will be produced by T Siva of Amma Creations production house. Shooting of this film will commence in Goa from November 9. Music director Amresh, who rose to fame with Motta Siva Ketta Siva, will be scoring the tunes for this movie.
Charlie Chaplin, which was released in 2002, starred Prabhudheva, Prabhu, Abhirami and Gayathri Raghuramm in the lead roles. The film turned out to be a huge hit because of which the film was remade in six languages.
