Native celebrations for ULAGANAYAGAN
Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan, who turned 65 on November 7, celebrated his birthday in style with his close family members and friends taking part at his native Paramakudi. The actor made a style statement with his traditional Tamil costume in white veshti and white kurta and seen mingling with his family members.
His brother Charuhasan with his wife, niece Suhasini Maniratnam, daughters Shruti and Akshara Haasan and actress Pooja Kumar were present for the celebrations. It is no secret that Kamal shares a close bond with Sivaji Ganesan’s family, who felicitated Ulaganayagan for his 60 years in the Indian film industry at an event at their residence in Chennai. Sivaji’s son actor Prabhu was one of the early arrivals on the occasion.
Kamal has been receiving warm wishes from his friends and fans. The pictures of Kamal’s birthday with the hashtag #Kamal 65 are going viral and they were among the top 5 on twitter trends. Rajinikanth fans were also praising Kamal’s achievements while Ajith and Vijay fans were not to be left behind in wishing the Vishwaroopam star. Many celebrities including Khushbhu have changed their mobile profile images with those of Kamal.
On November 8, Kamal will unveil a statue of his mentor and veteran filmmaker K Balachander at Raajkamal Films’ new office premises in Alwarpet, Chennai. Balachander’s family members are expected to be present for this event. A special screening of the film Hey Ram at Sathyam Cinemas, followed by interaction with the actor, has also been scheduled.
A star-studded musical event has been planned for November 17 called ‘Ungal Naan’. A grand musical tribute by Isai Gnani Ilayaraja will take place, with Rajinikanth and many other celebrities expected to grace the occasion. The event will be held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
