Recently, maestro Ilaiyaraaja was forcibly vacated from Prasad Studios, which had been his abode for over 45 years while he scored music for over 1,000 films. Since then, Raja has done something which few other composers would dare to do. Isaignani has completed the background score of a film at his T. Nagar residence in the city.
Ilaiyaraaja is presently composing music for Vijay Antony's upcoming film Tamezharasan, directed by Babu Yogeswaran. The movie has Remya Nambeesan as Antony’s pair. Though he had composed the songs for the film already, the background score of Tamezharasan was yet to be completed. That was when the composer had a conflict with the owners of Prasad Studios and had to move out. Unfazed, he gathered all the music artistes at his home and started working on the background score. He also recorded the proceedings live. This is the first time he has composed music for a film at home.
Antony revealed that this is the first time Ilaiyaraaja composed music for another music director’s film and said it was a proud moment for him.
Two songs rendered by Sid Sriram from another of Raja’s films, Psycho, which were released recently, went viral. Psycho, directed by Mysshkin, features Udhayanidhi and Aditi Hydari Rao.
