Kadalai will be a treat for all
Ma Ka Pa Anandh, the TV anchor-turned-actor, will next be seen playing a jubilant youngster in Sahaya Suresh’s rural entertainer Kadalai. The debutant director Suresh is full of hope about his upcoming venture, and claims it will be a treat to a wide variety of audiences.
In a chat with us, Suresh talks about his first venture — “Kadalai means flirting to youngsters in Tamil, but I chose this name because the film is also about farming related issues.”
Speaking about the story, he reveals, “Youngsters today steer away from agriculture. My protagonist has a similar attitude, but things change, and he gravitates towards farming. The film ends on a good social note.”
He heaps praise on the star cast of Kadalai. He says, “Ma Ka Pa was wonderful to work with. He does the comedy sequences with ease. The scenes between him and Yogi Babu will be laughter riots. John Vijay is playing the villain, but even his character has shades of humour. He will talk in a mixture of Tamil and English, something like legendary actor MR Radha.”
Aishwarya Rajesh, who was last seen in Vijay Sethupathi’s Dharma Durai, is the female lead of the entertainer. “Though it might sound like a cliché, I have to say Aishwarya will look different in this film. She will look more beautiful and won’t look like a typical village girl,” he adds.
Also starring Ponvannan, the film has music by CS Sam, who composed the music for Vijay Sethupathi’s Mellisai. The makers are currently eyeing an October release.
