Nandita, who is waiting for the release of Selva’s Nenjam Marapathillai, is on a high with her latest Telugu release Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, running steadily in theatres even in the third week. Several requests for remake rights are now coming in from other industries with offers of around Rs 80 lakh!
“While GV Prakash has offered a huge sum, and is keen to buy the film’s Tamil remake rights as he feels it has a good market here, there are others who have shown interest too. Negotiations are on and the team in Hyderabad is trying to sell the film for a higher price. A similar offer has been made for Kannada as well. A decision will be taken soon,” shares a source from the film’s unit.
The film has exceeded expectations and will easily make around Rs 24 crore with the theatres run, satellite rights and remake rights. Directed by VI Anand, the film is a thriller interspersed with supernatural elements and comedy.
