The recent Cyclone Michaung has left Chennai grappling with widespread devastation, including in areas where several Kollywood celebrities reside. Superstar Rajinikanth’s house in the upmarket Poes Garden locality was among those affected by the floods.
A video of the flood waters around Rajini’s house shot by a fan has been circulating online, showing submerged roads around the house. However, the flood waters reportedly did not enter the Superstar’s house.
Currently, Rajini is away in Tirunelveli, shooting for his Thalaivar 170 under the direction of TJ Gnanavel. His family has shifted to an alternate location for safety.
Rajinikanth’s fans and the general public have expressed concern and surprise over the situation. A social media user remarked, “Thalaivarkae indha nilamaiya?” (Is even Thaliavar in such dire straits?)
While actor Vijay has issued a statement about Chennai’s flood situation and has mobilised his Vijay Makkal Iyakkam members to assist the affected in collaboration with the government, Rajini has not yet made a public statement regarding the natural calamity.
