After playing honest cop in Thuppaki Munai, Vikram Prabhu will be seen in the contrasting role of a conman in Asura Guru, directed by Rajdheep, a gold medalist from Film Institute and a former assistant of ace Mohan Raja. Sources say Asura is a heist thriller loosely based on the sensational Salem-Chennai train heist where crores of money were looted.
Says Vikram Prabhu, “Most of my films with a first time director work well. In the case of Asura Guru, which is an action thriller, the story was amazing which extracted the best from me. I learn a lot with each film”.
Rajdheep says Vikram Prabhu will be seen portraying a guy who steals money from corrupt people and the government. Mahima Nambiar essays his pair in the role of a private detective.
Mahima says Vikram Prabhu is a thorough professional. “Not only acting, he has great knowledge of other departments like camera, lighting, art etc. It was a special experience working with Vikram Prabhu.” She said she attended workshops for a period of three months to prepare for her role. She learnt archery, bike riding and adventure sports to lend authenticity to her character.
