Remya Nambeesan has more plans as a singer
The song Fy Fy Fy — Remya Nambeesan’s first ever stint as a singer in Tamil, turned out to be a big hit and earned a recognition for her voice. As of now, he actress has sung about 20 songs in Malayalam and a handful in Tamil. Now, her cover for the song Yavvana from the film Sathya starring Sibiraj and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and herself, is set to be released by RJ Balaji.
“When I listened to the song for the first time, I liked it so much that I wanted to try in my own voice. So, I took it up to Sibi(raj) and Simone K. King, the composer of the film. Then we had a jamming session at his studio, and eventually came up with the cover,” she elaborates.
The original version of Yavvana, has garnered a commendable response, and has been sung by singers Kalyani Nair and Yasin.
It is just a baby step in her journey of making more covers and original, says Remya. “I have a plan of coming up with Remya Nambeesan Encore, a platform of sorts, through which I will be producing more original songs. This is mainly because I would want the music to be more independent and not only dependent on movies.”
