Manit Joura, a face to watch out for

Manit is also an avid fan of motorcycles and has travelled around the world on his two-wheeler.

Manit Joura is very articulate about things. A trained actor who made his debut simultaneously in both Malayalam and Tamil with the film Solo, directed by Bejoy Nambiar, is upbeat about his experience in the film.

“Bejoy has something unique in him. His films are different somehow and that’s what I like about him,” he begins his conversation. He adds, “ He gives more freedom to the actors and will not hesitate to make us experiment or do something different in every take.” Solo marks the second collaboration of the two. Earlier, he worked with the Shaitan director in a TV show.

When asked about his debut in the south, Manit beams, “I am very pleased about it. I have always found people in southern part of India very unique and talented. People here are very kind and different in many aspects. I am looking forward to working here more. I haven’t signed anything yet, but I am hoping that to happen.”

Manit, a trained actor, who quit his high-paying modelling career, to take up acting seriously, has done a course in New York — “I was earning good money in modelling but I found it boring after some time. Also, I took up modelling to venture into acting eventually. So, I plunged myself into it.”

Manit is also an avid fan of motorcycles and has travelled around the world on his two-wheeler — “I did a trip from Athens to Barcelona, covering about sixteen countries on my bike. In fact, Dulquer and I hit it off instantly when we came to know we share the same passion. We bonded over the love for biking and travelling.”
