A dream debut, indeed!

The plot revolves around the ritual of offering goats to gods and the proceedings are seen from the point of view of the goat.

Raveena Ravi, who has been the voice for many leading ladies like Nayanthara, Amy Jackson and Kajal Aggarwal, is finally debuting as a heroine herself in Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu. Prod her on why she chose this film, the chirpy Raveena replies, “It was a no-brainer. It was a wonderful team, a good director and most importantly, a quirky and likeable story.” The 23-year-old admitted that she was nervous to be facing the camera for the first time — “I have so far only given voice to many heroines, and being a heroine for the first time was very scary. But the team was extremely supportive of me, and Vidharth helped me out with my lines and camera angles too.”

The plot revolves around the ritual of offering goats to gods and the proceedings are seen from the point of view of the goat. Being one of the central characters of the film, shooting with the goat was a fun experience, she shares. “When we shot in a forest, where there were no other animals but the goat itself, my mother Sreeja Ravi (also a dubbing artiste) used to mimic bleating noises and confuse the poor thing!”

Raveena is currently listening to a few scripts but is yet to take a call on future films. “I want the film to release and my future plans will depend on the response I get,” she says. Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu is written and directed by Suresh Sangaiah and is expected to release next month.
