Tharshan and I are just close friends: Sanam Shetty
What’s cooking between actress Sanam Shetty and Bigg Boss 3 fame Tharshan, who is being introduced as the lead hero in the film Magie, bankrolled by Sanam? Though Sanam maintains that they are just good friends, a little birdie tells us that there’s something more to it.
In a freewheeling chat Sanam speaks about her maiden production venture Magie and Tharshan. “It’s a rom-com thriller. I play the titular character of a girl from North Eastern region. It has a different knot and a sort of a travel story. Magie is a college girl from Meghalaya, who gets caught in a scam and comes to Chennai. We haven’t explored North East so far in Tamil movies and shot extensively at Mawlynnong, which has the credit of Asia’s cleanest village. I also got trained to speak their native Khasi language.”
She adds that since it involves action adventure, she has done several stunt sequences without a body double. “I took three months training. Action choreographer Dinesh Subbarayan patiently waited for every shot despite my needing several takes. He was particular that I complete them with utmost perfection.”
Sanam’s face blushes the moment you speak about rumours floating about her and Tharshan, Sanam’s face blushes. “I knew him while we were doing commercials together. I wanted a fresh face for Magie and he fitted perfectly for the role. And we share a close friendship. That’s all. There’s nothing between us.” The Ambuli actress is confident that Tharshan would win the title in the ongoing BB reality show.
Pandiarajan, Karunakaran, Ramesh Thilak, Arjunan and Abhishek are in the cast. Sam CS composes the music. Fathima Babu, a co-contestant with Tharsan in BB 3, said she would adopt him as her son once he comes out of the show. She was present at the poster launch too. Sanam has two more film including Ethir Vinaiyaattral in Tamil in her kitty.
