With biopics being the order of the day, veteran filmmaker K.Rajheshwar has announced that he would be making the biopic of JP Chandrababu, the late comedian, singer who also acted as the hero in a few films. Titled JP: The Legend of Chandrababu, it is based on a book penned by the director on thge actor who was very popular between the ‘50s and ‘70s.
“Talks are on with a noted actor to essay Chandrababu. The film will also feature his contemporaries like MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Savithri, Gemini Ganesan, Kannadasan and MS Viswanathan besides political leaders like Kamaraj and VO Chidambaram Pillai. The casting itself is a big challenge,” the director reveals.
Chandrababu commanded remuneration at par with the hero of films and sometimes, it exceeded the lead actor’s pay as well. Chandrababu’s life was full of twists and turns and the Amaren director is expected to bring all of it on celluloid without making any compromises.
The producer of the film is RuRo, an Indo-Russian co-production company, and reportedly the film will be dubbed in Russian as well.
