Climbing the ladder of fame
Tamil film industry has seen several child artistes, who gradually took the path to become heroines. While a few succeeded, many failed the attempt. Actress Shathiga, who has acted in over 30 films and a handful of television soap operas, is the latest addition to the list. She is overwhelmed with the response for her performance in Suseenthiran’s Nenjil Thunivirundhal.
This is not the first time that Shathiga has acted in Susee’s direction. Speaking about her association with the director, she says, “Although, I have acted in films from my childhood, I gained good recognition through Naan Mahaan Alla. I have also become a regular in his films. Along with me, there are also other artistes who will be seen in Susee’s sir’s films regularly. Whenever sir calls me, I would instantly go to the shooting spot and then only listen to his narration. Even if my character’s screen-time is less, he would make sure that it gets noticed by people. My characterisation in films like Naan Mahaan Alla, Paayum Puli (as Vishal’s younger sister), Maaveeran Kittu (friend of Sri Divya) and Nenjil Thunivirundhal are examples of his sincerity.”
Shathiga has been acting ever since she was two years old and she shot to fame with her role in Vijay’s Kuruvi. She has also acted in several Tamil serials like Chithi, Mangai, etc.
