Versatile actor Ajay Ratnam’s son Dheeraj Ratnam, who made his debut with Arivazhagan’s Aaradhu Sinam has won the gold medal at the district level power-lifting competition in the 200 kg category. The actor talks to us about how he balances both careers.
“Right from my school days, I was into several sport activities. Later, I got into weight lifting, but I came to know of power-lifting through my coach Maya Krishnan. With just six months of training, I was able to strike gold at the district level,” he explains.
On the film front, he has six movies in his kitty including Thupparivaalan and Sathuranga Vettai 2. “I was introduced in Telugu by Surender Reddy in Kick 2 — a role with grey shades. I want to shine in negative roles only. That way, my role model is Raghuvaran sir. I think for my physique, such roles suit me.
