GM Sundar, a graduate of the prestigious Chennai Film Institute, was discovered by the late ace director K Balachander and he acted in more than 70 films in Tamil. He has finally got due recognition in the recent Arya starrer Magamuni.
“After seeing my performance in Punnagai Mannan, Kamal sir gave me a noticeable role in his flick Sathya and later in his production venture Kadami Kanniyam Kattupadu. Though, my journey continued with several A-Lister actors and being the hero of all new theatre plays by prestigious Kooth-u-pattarai, success still eludes me.”
In his second phase, Nalan Kumarasamy gave him a break with a full-length role in Vijay Sethupathi’s film Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, where he played a crooked councillor. Now, with his cop role in Magamuni getting critical acclaim, the actor feels that no one can snatch his place.
Sundar has Mandela, a message oriented commercial film with Yogi Babu, Siren and two other films in his kitty.
