Arundhati Nair picks homely characters
Arundhati Nair’s debut film Saithan with Vijay Antony fetched her laurels. Her intense performance in the flick was appreciated by the audience and critics as well. Now, the talented actress has two movies in her kitty — Pagal and the Tamil remake of 100 Degree Celsius.
The actress firmly believes that she can do full justice to homely characters. “When I listen to stories, I make sure that the team and the story are safe and comfortable. Secondly, I ensure that my character has some importance in the script. Post Saithan, I received a lot of offers, but I had to reject most of them as they were not impressive,” she starts the conversation.
Speaking about her role in Pagal, Arundhati reveals, “I play a homely role in the movie which is centered on an issue that the Tamil Nadu people are facing right now. The film will also explore the relationship between a father and daughter. I play Aadhav Kannadasan’s romantic interest in the film.”
The Saithan actress is eagerly looking forward to joining the sets of Mithran Jawahar’s Tamil remake of Malayalam film, 100 Degree Celsius. “We were told that the shooting of the untitled film will commence by the end of January. It is a crime-thriller and I am very eager to act with other leading heroines from the industry,” she concludes.
