Ajeesh revels in composer role
Ajeesh, who rose to fame through a popular television reality show, first donned the hat of a composer for the film Paambhu Sattai, which starred Bobby Simha. The youngster has now scored music for his second outing, Thiri that stars Ashwin Kakumanu and Swathi Reddy. In a chat with us, he talks about how Paambhu Sattai was instrumental in getting him this new opportunity, his other ventures and more.
“If you take my first album Paambhu Sattai, it was full of sad emotions. In Thiri, however, it is a mix of all kinds of emotions. There are four songs, of which, two are fast numbers and one is a romantic melody. Other than that, there is an emotional song on father-son love,” Ajeesh, begins. He also reveals that music composer SS Thaman was the first one to be roped in for the film. “He (Thaman) has composed a song for the film, and when he backed out of the project, it came to me. But his song is also part of the film.”
Ajeesh says his first album is what landed him this project — “The editor and cameraman of my first project have also worked in Thiri. So, they suggested my name to the makers.” When asked if he had always wanted to become a music director, he says, “The interest has been always there. Even from my school days, I used to compose music for the bands I was part of. I thought it is the right time to start doing this. Luckily, I met Manobala sir, the producer of Paambhu Sattai, and everything worked out well.” Ajeesh is currently also composing the background score for another upcoming film called Vallavanukum Vallavan.
